ACE D&H Consultants recently completed a terminal evaluation for FAO’s “Restoration Initiative” project in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), contributing to global efforts in forest and landscape restoration. Managed by Anna Ioannou, DeRidder BenjaminPhilippe and Floribert Mbolela from the FAO, this evaluation was led by ACE D&H’s expert team and the national consultant Prof Gerard Imani, who applied a tailor-made evaluation methodology developed for four Global Environmental Facility (GEF)-funded projects across DRC, Kenya, and Sao Tome and Principe.
The DRC project focused on improving the management and restoration of agro-sylvo-pastoral resources in South-Kivu. Through extensive stakeholder consultations—including government bodies, private sector actors, and civil society organizations—the evaluation addressed the project’s role in combating deforestation and promoting sustainable land-use practices.

ACE D&H extends its sincere appreciation to all stakeholders involved for their invaluable cooperation throughout the evaluation process. The confidence placed in us by FAO reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based evaluations that support environmental sustainability and community resilience.
