ACE D&H Consultants recently concluded a midterm evaluation of the Open Timber Portal—Independent Forest Monitoring Project in Cameroon, managed by Achille Djeagou from the World Resources Institute (WRI). This project focuses on strengthening Cameroon’s institutional frameworks for forest monitoring and boosting civil society’s involvement in forest law enforcement.
Led by ACE D&H’s team of evaluation specialists (Prof Aurelian Mbzibain, Rene Phil Oyono, Seraphin Ngoumbe and Dr Yaya Pouakone), the evaluation included in-depth consultations with local stakeholders, including governmental bodies, private sector partners, and civil society organizations. The aim was to assess the effectiveness of the project in enhancing transparency and accountability in forest management.

The organised focus group consisted of ten people including two from CeDLA and eight representatives of the communities of Ndtoua, Nkoolong and Ebimimbang in the districts of Bipindi and Niété SOUTH region.
